01 About SchoolNest

SchoolNest is an online directory that helps parents and guardians in Uganda discover, compare, and contact schools. We are an information platform only. We are not an education provider, an agent of any school, or a party to any agreement between you and a school.

02 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or submit content to the service. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

03 Accounts

Some features of the service require an account (for example, school owner accounts). You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

04 School listings & owner responsibilities

If you register a school listing, you represent and warrant that:

• You are the school's authorised representative, or you have express permission from the school to manage its listing.
• All information you submit is accurate, current, and not misleading.
• You have the right to publish any photos, logos, or content you upload.
• You will promptly update your listing if any material information changes.

We reserve the right to edit, refuse, or remove any listing for any reason — including if it appears inaccurate, misleading, outdated, or inappropriate.

05 Parent & visitor use

School information on SchoolNest is provided for general guidance only. While we make reasonable efforts to keep listings accurate, we do not guarantee that fees, programmes, locations, or any other details are correct, complete, or up to date.

Always verify information directly with the school before making enrolment or financial decisions.

06 Reviews and user content

You may be able to submit reviews, comments, or other content ("User Content"). You agree that your User Content:

• Is truthful and reflects your genuine experience.
• Does not contain defamation, harassment, hate speech, or false statements.
• Does not violate anyone's privacy or intellectual property rights.
• Does not contain spam, promotional content, or malicious links.

We may moderate, edit, or remove User Content at our discretion.

07 Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Ugandan law.
• Scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data from the service without our prior written permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its infrastructure.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service, its servers, or networks.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with a school.
• Upload viruses, malware, or any harmful code.
• Use the service to send unsolicited commercial communications (spam).

08 Intellectual property

The service, its design, code, logos, and content (excluding User Content and school-submitted material) are owned by SchoolNest and protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent, except for personal, non-commercial use.

09 Fees and paid services

Basic listings on SchoolNest are currently free. We may introduce optional paid features in the future. If you subscribe to a paid feature, you agree to pay all applicable fees, and refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

10 Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

11 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Ugandan law, SchoolNest and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed UGX 500,000 or the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.

12 Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

13 Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the site. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

14 Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any dispute shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, the dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda.
